Chiropractic Care - Part II

As a profession, the primary belief of chiropractic medicine is in the natural and conservative methods of health care. Doctors of chiropractic have a deep respect for the human body's ability to heal itself WITHOUT the use of surgery or medication.

The doctors devote careful attention to the biomechanics, structure and function of the spine, its effects on the musculoskeletal and neurological systems and the role that the proper function of these systems is to overall preservation and restoration of health. A Doctor of Chiropractic is one who is involved in the treatment and prevention of disease as well as promotion of public health and a wellness approach to patient health care.

In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition. Doctors of Chiropractic frequently treat individuals with headaches, joint pain, neck pain, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis, spinal disk conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, sprains and strains. Chiropractors also treat allergies, asthma, disgestive disorders, and non-suppurative otitis media (ear infections).
